If you are...
New to New Hope,
Not yet a member of New Hope,
A recent new member of New Hope,
Someone with any questions about New Hope (any at all),
Someone who has been attending for years but who has never attended New Hope: next,
A volunteer leader who has never attended New Hope: next,
A staff member, elder, or deacon who has never attended New Hope: next...
Then New Hope: next is for you.
And I'd love for you to take it!!
(This is actually my absolute favorite thing to do here at New Hope, and that's to lead this class. Well, OK, one of my favorites. But it ranks way up there!!)
Here's what you'll gain by participating. An introduction to who we are as a church including our Vision, Mission, Strategy, Core Values and Leadership Structure. An in depth understanding of our Essential Beliefs and those areas where there is freedom at New Hope. A glimpse into the staff structure and the various ministries of our church.
And it's not presented as a boring lecture!! Well, that's not the intent anyway. Rather, we simply sit and talk about all of these things over two consecutive Sundays. And we try to do it in a small group format because small groups mean a lot to us. (That's why we limit the size of each New Hope: next).
You'll have many opportunities to ask questions. Any questions. And we'll talk about what's next for you on your spiritual journey and as a part of New Hope Christian Church. For some that could be baptism, for others membership. For still others that could involve diving in to an area of service. (Note: For the occasional participant, it might even mean that the wisest choice is to visit another church and that's OK.)
As a "class" participant (and really, it's more of an experience than a class), you'll get to interact with some of our church's leadership including some elders and their wives, and some staff members. There is the occasional special guest as well.
There's also usually some food to snack on while we talk.
Seriously, what have you got to lose? Give it a shot. We offer it a few times a year and try our best to publicize in advance of the start of the class. You can sign up online at our web site.
[COVID-19 Disclaimer: Obviously this pandemic thing has thrown a monkey wrench into our plans as a church and that includes any plans for New Hope: next. As of the writing of this blog post (05/12/20), no in-person classes are scheduled. However, after a lot of prayer we've decided to try some online options. Details will be available soon via our various social media platforms. Email me at david.smith@newhopechristianchurch.com if you'd like to be kept in the loop on any New Hope: next developments. You could be a part of history!]
